Setting a goal

I have set a goal for myself today.

I have been binge watching episodes of extreme weight loss with Chris and Heidi Powell. The men and women that take part have a year to transform themselves, from obese to average; and I want to be like them. So...I am declaring this the first day of my body makeover. I choose me!!

I am aiming to lose around 70-80lbs by August 8th 2017.

I've already set a reminder in my calendar to ensure that I stick to it.

Initially I am going to use the Myfitnesspal app. I want to get used to tracking what I'm eating, because I think it will make me more aware if what I'm putting in my body, this is especially important because I am type2 diabetic, and I really don't want to end up insulin dependant.

So far so good with the MFP app, Jamie (my wonderful, supportive husband) has also decided to join me on the app to keep me company.

I am also going to be very honest and admit that I struggle with food and my emotions, I feel like using the MFP app will also allow me to log any patterns in my behaviour.

I am an emotional person, who often has turned to food for comfort, I have to end that now.

I'll also be keeping up with my workouts at clubbercise and boogie bounce, but I want to introduce other elements at home, as I can't afford a gym membership on top of my current classes. I am aiming to work out 5 times a week on average, I feel like that is achievable, and I hope this will improve my fitness greatly.

Finally, I am going to use Instagram, the community on there is amazing. There are so many inspirational stories and pictures and I love them all. It's a great way to keep a visual record too. I also love it for recipe idea's!

Wish me luck, this time next year I hope to be typing with less chubby fingers!

Intro

An Introduction...

Welcome to Life As I Know It, I'm Cher, it's nice to meet you.

Me & My Man at the .Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe in Berlin

This will be space where I talk about my life, my family, my friends and my cats!

In my everyday life, I am an administrator for a construction company, I love the people I work with and they make me laugh every day.

I come home to my husband Jamie, who is a wonderful supportive dude, he makes me have faith in men where this was previously dashed. We have been together for 6 years and it has flown by. We have been through a lot in those 6 years because Jamie has some very serious health conditions, and I do too, which is scary at 28, but we make it work.

We have no children, and I don't know if we ever will, but we have two absolutely beautiful cats who I love to death, they love me a little less though!

I am on a weight loss mission, inspired by my oldest friend, she has lost 10 stone in a year! I know I won't quite have that success, but I will lose at my own pace and I will get there.

I have been overweight my entire life, so breaking the habits of a lifetime is hard, but if it's not hard, it's probably not working eh?

In my free time I love to create abstract art, people often tell me I should sell my work, but I feel if I started doing that it would take the enjoyment out of it for me. I also absolutely love attending Clubbercise classes, and Boogie Bounce classes, I do these with my girl Fiona, it has brought me happiness that I never thought was possible from exercising!

I think this is probably enough rambling for now, I shall bid you farewell.
